On a miserably hot and humid evening, the fish were killing the Whopper Plopper! This fish made just a ripple in the water as she hit, then I had the best fight in years. Actually she was 5 pounds and 3 ounces. (converting .2 lbs. to ounces)

They always say its not a question of IF you will ever turn your kayak over, but WHEN you will turn your kayak over. Luckily, I was getting out of it at the bank, not falling out of it in the middle of the lake. My mistake was stepping off from the side instead of going straight off the end. Boy I was ticked off, but fortunately I still had my GoPro running.

We went to visit my mother-in-law in her new Motor Home up at Don Carter State Park on Lake Lanier. I took my rod and reel and a few lures and fished from the bank for a couple of hours. I had no action until right before quiting. This little 13 incher grabbed my chrome Rattle-Trap. That was my only bite.

Slow fishing called for drastic measures. I decided to switch over to a popping bug and it paid off in less than 5 minutes. I landed a 3 pounder, which was the biggest bass I've ever landed on my fly rod.

I almost went home at 12:30pm. Not a single strike, then all of a sudden 3 fish in about 15 minutes. I lost another one right before I left for the afternoon. I had a pretty nice one follow my Rattle-Trap right up to the boat. You can see it at the very end of the video.

I tried out the Garmin Striker 4 and it was awesome. I also caught two small ones (and had 3 more strikes). I left my GoPro power cord at the house, so I didn't have enough battery for continuous filming. I just turned the camera on when I got the strike.
